Rockets are intended for launching from a four-barrel L-128-04 rocket launcher which is suitable for readily adaptable to any fixed or rotary wing aircraft capable of carrying such payloads and provided with weapon release units of 250 mm to 355.6 mm (14 –inch NATO STANDARD) hook spacing. Launchers are equipped with electrical triggering system activated by pilot or Weapon System Operator. Weapon is very suitable for cost-effective engagement of variety of battlefield targets, particularly in anti-terrorist operations, including reinforced buildings, bunkers etc.
• The 5-5 is unguided air to surface rocket in the caliber of 55mm, developed by the Soviet Air Force and used by military aircraft against ground area targets. • It is produced in a variety of subtypes with different warheads. • Each rocket is about1.4 meters Long and weighs about 5kg, depending on the warhead and fuse range is 3 to 4 kilometers.
The S-8 is a rocket developed by the Soviet Air Force for use by military aircraft. It remains in service with the Russian Air Force and various export customers. Developed in the1970s, the S-8 is an 80 mm (3.1in) rocket used by fighter jets and helicopters. The S-8 is generally carried in the 8 series of rocket pods, carrying either seven or twenty rockets. We used cylindrical geometry with two types of propellant grain, instead of a star geometry and single type of propellant grain, while retaining the same performances.
Rockets are launched either individually or in ripples, with time shift between launchings of not less than ~50 ms. Launching is controlled electrically, with voltage of 27 ± 10% V..
